There are many practical limitations to NDAs, and it really comes down to trust.  If you trust someone, an NDA is a good thing.

If you do NOT trust someone, do NOT do an NDA with them.

There are practical realities to how well an NDA will protect you, so you need to be aware of those risks and make good business choices.
