Taking Responsibility for Our Own IP
The only person who will take responsibility for your IP is you – and you alone.
You can protect IP through patents, trademarks, and copyrights, but most IP is best protected as a trade secret.
The single best way to protect any idea is just to keep it quiet.
If you never tell anyone, you will always own the idea. Of course, there are practical realities to that strategy, and it is difficult to collaborate and get feedback on your idea when you never share it.
